Ozro W. Childs, a Protestant horticulturalist, was a founding father of The University of Southern California. His sprawling estate occupied all of the land from Main to Hill streets, and from Eleventh to Twelfth streets. It later became known as the "Huntington Purchase". The photo shows the exterior of a small house, and behind trees, on the right of the picture, the roof to a bigger structure.
