View of Mission Dam remnant located in the San Diego River; shows rock and mortar wall, roots and branches of shrub growing from exposed end (left of center); dam and aqueduct built 1813-1816. Handwritten on verso: Dam across San Diego River built from 1805 to 1810 [sic] by Franciscan Monks to furnish water for San Diego Mission. About 10 miles east of Mission. San Diego; 1980.
