Description
Myers renovated and expanded the Art Gallery-- renovating the existing 190,000 square feet of museum and adding another 100,000 square feet. The renovations included the re-working of buildings dating back to 1817, and to connect the various new and old spaces to each other with courtyards, sculpture gardens, and the use of mass and voids.
Myers created a sculpture garden in the midst of the expanded buildings, to be utilized as a site for dining, exhibition openings, concerts, and other events. The expanded Art Gallery is one of the largest museums in North America.
