Description
Photograph of a muddy street in Los Angeles's Old Chinatown, ca.1898. The narrow dirt road is lined with two story wooden buildings with covered balconies and sidewalks. In the bottom left corner there is a puddle of water in the street. Hanging from most of the buildings are traditional Chinese paper lanterns. There are several pedestrians on the right side of the street, one of whom is looking intently into a shop window. Utility poles line the street on the right.
