Description
Black and white photograph of Emily Godfrey, missionary of the Methodist Missionary Society (formerly the Primitive Methodist Missionary Society) and matron of the Methodist Missionary Society hospital at Ama Achara, south-eastern Nigeria. In this image, Emily Godfrey is pictured at another general hospital run by the Methodist Missionary Society at Ituk Mbam, Uyo state, east Nigeria, holding a small baby. The baby, Nkonye, has lost his mother. The caption to this image reads: "Ituk Mbam. E.G & Baby Nkonye 1934." This photograph was pasted into one of a series of exercise book albums created by Emily Godfrey.
