Photograph of a Havasupai Indian woman basket maker at work, ca.1900. She is wearing a patterned cloth around her shoulders, a patterned dress and many beaded necklaces around her neck. She crouches on the ground with a small basket held in her lap. At her right sits a completed "Esua" or water jug (a basket covered with pinon gum). A large conical basket sits to her left. Two smaller hourglass-shaped baskets also sit to her right. A small basket shaped shallow platter lays in front of her. Wild grass grows behind her.
