Description
This group portrait on camelback with local guides was taken during a three-month tour of Europe and the Near East in 1949. As seen here (left to right) the party included friends and family: in front of the Sphinx and a pyramid, near Cairo, Egypt. The photo was taken during a world tour in 1949. From left to right, on the camels are Norvel Young, Helen Young, Ruby Morrow Young (Norvel's mother), Lilly A. Burton, and Batsell Barrett Baxter. Wanda Baxter is standing on the far right at the front. In the background stands the Great Sphinx and the Pyramid of Khufu, part of the Giza complex near Cairo, Egypt. complete;
