Description: A brick house, with sidewalk and fence in front of it, on 3rd Street in San Bernardino. Identified as the home of Jack Ruffin. The number "191" is on the electrical pole at right.
"Home of Jack Ruffin. 3rd St. San Bernardino." - handwritten caption under same photograph in "Hazard-Dyson photograph album" (call no. 094/171), UCLA Special Collections. Title devised by cataloger; date range approximated by cataloger based on the year that film negatives came into use and the latest known dates indicated for other Hazard images in the Huntington's collection. Jack Ruffin (d. 1907) was an early settler in San Bernardino, arriving in the 1850s. (L.A. Herald, p. 3, June 2, 1907).
