The Bendix Corporation was an American manufacturing and engineering company which made automotive brake shoes and systems, aircraft brakes, aeronautical hydraulics and electric power systems, avionics, aircraft and automobile fuel control systems, radios, televisions and computers. The company was in operation from 1924-1983, when it was taken over by Honeywell International, Inc. Photograph caption dated April 10, 1957 reads "Shown above viewing sonar tank in Bendix's North Hollywood facility are few of some 60 outstanding San Fernando Valley High School students who toured the plant. Tour was sponsored by San Fernando Valley Professional Engineers Society. Each student had written an essay prior to his visit. Winner will be announced at banquet at later date." The plant's address is 11600 Sherman Way in North Hollywood.
