Photograph caption dated August 7, 1959 reads, "Joan of Arc -- Interested students (background) watch as Kandi works silently through bit from her favorite role, Joan of Arc. Though she usually practices in her room in front of mirror, Kandi agreed to go on stage for Valley Times photographer. She whispers lines to give her inspiration for expression and pose, stands on box to augment five-foot height."
