David O. Selznick, son of silent movie director Lewis J. Selznick, was one of the iconic Hollywood producers of the Golden Age. He produced blockbuster classics, including "Gone with the Wind" (1939), and "Rebecca" (1940), which earned him Oscars for Best Picture back-to-back, making him the only producer to hold that title. After "Rebecca", Selznick took some time off but continued active by developing film projects. In 1944 he returned to producing pictures with huge success. Selznick died at the age of 63 on June 22, 1965 following several heart attacks, and was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame located at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Exterior view of producer David O.
