This publicity photo of Michael Dukakis a few weeks before the election of 1988 depicts the Democratic presidential candidate playing soccer with a young member of the Land Park Soccer League. During this leg of his campaign, Dukakis enjoyed the support of the Land Park community in addition to Sacramento’s Greek-American community which included Phil Angelides, who hosted a large scale fundraiser for Dukakis’ presidential campaign in Land Park less than two weeks after this photo was taken.
