Original photograph cropped. Photograph article dated January 14, 1961 partially reads, "Steve Allen, the television comedian who frequently played a professorial-type who made up zany questions for sensible answers given him, was deadly serious in countering charges made by board member J. C. Chambers. Chambers had said Thursday that Allen 'is not competent' to speak on 'Education, Morality and Nuclear Warfare' before an assembly of teachers today. Allen, co-chairman of the Hollywood chapter of the National Committee for a Sane Nuclear Policy, said he has intensely studied the issue for the past two years so his 'public statements might be based on factual information.'"
