Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated August 14, 1962 partially reads, "Othman helped more than 100 persons, mostly prisoners of war, to escape from the occupied section of France to the free section. It was a dangerous avocation. During one point in the drama, Andre was arrested by the German occupation forces and his life hung in the balance for six months until he was released from prison because there wasn't enough evidence to definitely link him with the underground...Andre, who came to the United States about nine years ago, was awarded two medals by the French governmeit [sic] for his World War II work...He now lives in Granada Hills and operates Andre's Steak House in Sepulveda."
