A large number of oil derricks can be seen at center and into the background at right. All are tall structures made of thin metal beams and have platforms on top. The oil well closest to the foreground at right bears a sign that reads "Sam B. Herndon Oil Co. Ltd". The ocean is visible at left, and small waves can be seen breaking along a wide sandy beach.
