Description
The Scottish Rite Temple was located on North Third Street across from St. James Park. Bunting is draped above the door and on the second floor balcony. The large tree on the right is in bloom. The Scottish Rite Lodge built this Greco Roman-style temple in 1909. Within a dozen years the membership had outgrown this lodge and moved elsewhere. The temple was demolished in 1983. The modern nine-story St. James Office Building was constructed in its place, incorporating the temple's portico in its facade.
