Description
Photograph caption dated March 3, 1958 reads "As helicopter disappears into distance, workmen on ground prepare for whirlybird's return trip to be airlifted to mountains [sic] towers which will carry high voltage lines overhead. Big towers are transported in sections and assembled from air like stacking blocks on top of each other." The Southern California Edison Company is linking Saugus and Chatsworth with a 66,000 volt transmission line. See images 00155775 through 00155778 for all photos in this series.
