In this audio recording Peter F. Drucker discusses his ideas on management in his audiobook, “The Nonprofit Drucker.” This tape is part of the series, “Performance and Results.” It is entitled, “The Effective Decision.” Drucker begins by explaining that people need to spend more time on the decision-making process. He discusses elements to consider before making decisions: what's really involved in the process, and what is the bottom line. He talks about the risks of making decisions: high stakes, danger to an institution, cost and financing, and breaking tradition. Drucker warns against making unnecessary decisions at the risk of an organization. He ends the discussion by advising that all leaders employ a follow-up procedure to look at major decisions.
