Further back a missionary, probably Max Michel, is standing behind a desk. Max Michel (1881-1962), from Saxony, joined the Leipzig Mission in 1903. At first he worked in Gonja, 1911 he took over the station in Vudee. After the First World War and a stay in Germany he returned to East Africa and worked from 1929 to 1933 in Mbaga.
