Hundreds of top film and radio personalities lent their help either performing or working behind the scenes at this circus event to raise money for a new 100-bed wing at the St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California. The circus took place on the Pan-Pacific grounds in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles, California. Other performers included such notables as Gregory Peck, Harpo Marx, Elizabeth Taylor, Lucille Ball and many other top artists.
