Photograph caption dated July 7, 1950 reads "Officers of the Lake View Terrace Garden Club selected the rose garden of the Chester Wylie home, 11567 Eldridge Ave., for the garden-of-the-month award. (Left to right) Mrs. Chester Wylie, Chester Wylie (seated) and Mrs. Herbert Hoffman, vice-president of the club, discuss rose culture in the Wylie garden. Receiving honorable mention were Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Crowe, 11511 Kagel Canyon and Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Simmons, 11417 Eldridge."
