Description
Photograph of a composite of interior views of the Mayan Theater, ca.1925. Three separate views are shown: the top view depcits the theater's stage "showing asbestos". A jungle-themed tapestry serves as the drop-scene curtain, framed by faux-Mayan relief carving. The leftmost bottom image depicts a drinking fountain in the theater in the form of a basin balanced on the head of a carving that depicts a pygmie warrior. He is flanked to either side by decoration in the shape of gila monster heads. Finally, to the right, the tableau stage is shown, one of the two smaller stages that flank the main stage to either side. Several rows of seats are visible in the foreground. Picture file card reads "Photo from magazine".
