Description
Image of an elevation view of the side of a double-deck manual fire engine with with an ornately decorated center condenser case containing an image of a bare-chested mermaid and man and the label "Weccacoe."; a firefighter wearing a top hat labeled Wecca[coe] 1800" and a cape with the letters "F" and "A" stands at the front of the wagon; with a small image in bottom center margin of a Roman soldier dressed in a military costume with a bow and arrows.
Probable date based on date supplied for the copy held by the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. "Drawn, Lithographed, Published & Coloured by Geo. G. Heiss, No. 213, Nth 2nd St. above Vine St. 3th Story."--text, bottom left margin. "Printed by Wagner & Mc.Guigan, Philadelphia"--text, bottom right margin.
