Photographer's caption reads, "On a sweltering July morning, friends Melita and Ena, stop to rest in the shade in front of the Cornell Hall Apartments on South Cochran Avenue. They both arrived in Los Angeles after World War II and settled in the Miracle Mile area. With a bit of melancholy they agreed that the Cornell Hall Apartments remind them of New York."
