Description
Two-page flyer printed on both sides, folded in half to create four pages. The inside is black and white with a photo of the railroad passenger gravity car and a narrative description of the major sights on Mount Tamalpais and in Muir Woods. The front cover has a multi-color drawing of the sun setting over the ocean beyond Mount Tamalpais and the trees in the foreground. At the top of the cover page is the following text: "Special Two Day Excursions Monday to Friday Inclusive". At the bottom is: "Mt. Tamalpais Muir Woods". On the back cover there is a bullet point description of the tour. There is a very large "$10" in orange covering almost the entire length of the page and more small orange lettering near the bottom that says "All for Ten Dollars Cheaper than Staying at Home". At the very bottom there is a listing of ticket outlets including a number of hotels, travel agencies, and the Northwestern Pacific Railway. There is no mention anywhere in the brochure of the Mount Tamalpais and Muir Woods Railway even though the gravity car photo is obviously from that railroad. The conspicuous absence of the mention of the Mount Tamalpais and Muir Woods Railway and the fact that the Northwestern Pacific Railway is the only railroad ticket outlet leads one to conclude that the brochure must have been produced by the Northwestern Pacific Railway even though that is not written anywhere in the brochure.
