Scope/Content: Shown here are photographs depicting three home offices of the Golden State Mutual Life Insurance Company. Pictured on the far left is the Home Office at 4261 Central Avenue in Los Angeles, the company's base of operations before it relocated to the West Adams location. The second photograph is the company's second office located at 3512 Central Avenue, where it remained for three years before moving to 4261 Central Avenue. The third photograph in the sequence depicts the groundbreaking of the office at 4261 Central Avenue on August 7, 1928. Appearing in the fourth photograph are Edgar J. Johnson, architect Paul R. Williams, Norman O. Houston, and George A. Beavers, Jr. looking over a model of the company's final home office at 1999 West Adams Boulevard. The photographs were displayed in front of the Home Office on the occasion of the company's 75th anniversary.
