Description
Note: " ... rechts vom Eingang Speerbündel, Trinkhorn." (E-30-0,3).
Note translation: " ... on the right of the entrance a bundle of spears and a drinking horn." (E-30-0,3). - NB either the dating is wrong or the photographer cannot have been A. Wuhrmann, who only arrived in Cameroon in 1911. I would be inclined to take J. Striebel as the photographer and see this as part of the series of photographs which Stribel took of Lela in 1908 (PJ 05.2001). - P. Valentin lists the objects visible in this photograph: a blue-white indigo cloth , socalled "ndop" or "king's" cloth
the two branching lela-posts
several bundles of spears
carved house-post with bead cover
large cow horn (02.2002).
