Description
This circa 1923 postcard captures the Young Men’s Christian Association Building at Fifth and J streets. Built in 1913, the building housed a large gymnasium, swimming pool, and indoor track. The YMCA owned and operated this recreation center until 1951. The building changed hands several times until its demolition in 1969.
