Description
This circa 1955 postcard shows the Cordova Lodge at 10701 Folsom Boulevard, eight miles east of Sacramento. Built in mid-1950s under the leadership of George E. Johnson, the "motel lodge" was constructed for price of 2.5 million dollars, boasting 250-units, a restaurant, cocktail lounge, banquet room, coffee shop, two swimming pools. Cordova Village, Incorporated, was the owner and builder. Johnson was the father of longtime Sacramento restaurateur Eppie Johnson.
