Description
Groups of people wait at the "La Colorada" train station platform. Two men stand at the edge of the platform with their backs turned, facing the direction of the train platform. A group of people stand in front of the station house with luggage and goods in a carriage. Between 1983-1988, the 80's were considered to be the "lost decade" because of Mexico's debt crisis. This was due to the falling oil prices that left Mexico without foreign currencies to pay off its $80 billion debt. This in effect, increased high levels of unemployement, especially in rural areas.
