Photograph of distant view of large oriental-style building in Bernheimer Garden, Pacific Palisades, ca.1930. In the extreme foreground, a wide, paved path is visible extending into the background. On either side of the path, rectangular plots lined with small shrubs and palm trees can be seen. In the background, a small rotunda is visible at left. An automobile is parked on the side of the rotunda, and three individuals can be seen to the left. At the center of the rotunda, a statue of Lao Tzu riding a water ox is visible. In the extreme background at center, a staircase can be seen leading to a large oriental-style building. A Japanese archway is visible at center, and two rectangular buildings are seen at the left and right. The tips of the roofs of the buildings curve upwards, and a small object can be seen at the peak of the roof. To the right building, a curving ramp with a rail is visible near the garden.
