Description
2014-2158. Black paper mask, cover glass and taped edges. Online image only, no photographic print available. Restricted: slides not available for public viewing. "The Football Players," was created by sculptor Douglas Tilden in the mid-1890's. Came to the Berkeley campus in 1900, where was placed between Strawberry Creek and the Valley Life Sciences Building. Inscribed on base: "The Prize of Superiority in Football Won by the University of California 1898 and 1899."
