Description: In 1847, spectators lined the bordering hillsides to watch the historic Battle of Cahuenga Pass. Powerful bulldozers push land into place today to make way for a super-highway. When completed, the new freeway auto paths and the P.E. tracks will be elevated to eliminate crossings. Photo dated: December 3, 1947.
