Description
Photograph of a view of Los Angeles's Bernard Street, looking east from Figueroa Street, after widening and paving, June 2, 1938. The street is at center and is a paved but lacks painted lanes. Figueroa can be seen in the foreground and is a much wider street with lines painted in the middle. Several early-model automobiles can be seen parked along the side of Bernard, including two large trucks at right. Utility poles line the right side of the street, and small houses can be seen on both sides. A man in a military uniform is walking at right. In the background, a large building says "Thompson" across the top. Compares to USC-0-1-1-13, a view before widening and paving, dated 12/08/1935.
