Looking north along West Adams Boulevard and Palm Drive. Two large apartment buildings are on the right, two-story homes on the left, and two women visible at the corner. Palm Drive is appropriately named since it is completely lined with over two-dozen very tall palm trees on either side of the street, from beginning to end. Roughly around 2,600 species of palms are in existence. These can live in almost every type of habitat, but most are restricted to tropical or subtropical climates. Palms are one of the most well-known and extensively cultivated plant families, and are widely used in landscaping for their exotic appearance, making them one of the most economically important plants.
