Photographic portrait of aviator William Hoff at the Dominguez Hills Air Meet, 1912. Hoff is at center and is shown from his waist to his head while looking to the right. He is wearing a dark, button-down sweater with a light armband at left reading "Avia", and a large helmet with a brow that extends out from his head and casts a shadow over his eyes. He is leaning on a wooden support pole for an airplane, and the arm of another similarly clad aviator is at right.
