Description
Mayor's Message. Mayor White makes suggestions in reference to the arrangement of city affairs. Subjects: management of the city treasury, commendation of council for forming a hook and ladder company, request to purchase a fire engine, suggestion to improve water supply for fire prevention, request for Marshall to employ a constant three to four policemen, grading of First Street and Market Street to prevent flooding, creation of the office of Street Commissioner, formation of a committee to organize the laws into one book with the intent to improve accessibility for the public, City Clerk to act as Ex Officio Auditor in regards to collecting license taxes, improvement of the road leading to the Embarcadero, application to the State for refund of monies spent on the sick who have come to the City, the County to care for its own indigenous sick, and building a District School House.
