Students and teachers from Tweedy Elementary School were evacuated from the area of a chlorine gas leak in South Gate. The gas leak occurred when men working on a line that carries chlorine from freight cars to a bleach plant accidentally ruptured the pipe at Purex Corp., located at Firestone Boulevard and Rayo Avenue. Photograph dated February 22, 1986.
