Description
Written on back "The first Monrovia School Building. It was first used as a grade school until the High School was organized in 1892 or 1893. Then the grades used the lower floor and the High School the upper floor until 1904. At that time the new school was built on Ivy Ave. with grade school money and rented to the High School, which had insufficient funds to build. Mrs. C.A. Anson, 133 Stedman." Fourth teacher from left in back row is A. Kate Collins. Far right in back is Nathan F. Smith.
