Caption from January 17, 1980 Sacramento Bee reads, " RIVER BANK PROTEST A jogger passes a political commentary on the bank of the swollen American River near the H Street bridge. The painted rocks, usually used by students at nearby California State University, Sacramento, to proclaim fraternity or sorority slogans are arranged to read, "Flood Iran." Additional pictures and weather story on Page B1." "The bike + jogging trail in forground (sic.) is washed out. A jogger goes past pigns saying "Flood Iran" at the American River at H St. Bridge. Sign, painted white rocks from campus commons. The caption to weather storm + pix inside."
