Description: William Hamilton and Ruth White Bowie (nee Ruth Boericke). Hamilton was mayor of Mill Valley from October to December 1941. Bowie was considered a "grand dame" of Mill Valley, according to her oral history. Bowie's first husband, Ralston White, was the son of Tamalpais Land and Water Company founder Lovell White.
