Description
The bells given to Santa Clara Mission by Father Junipero Serra in 1777 on behalf of the King of Spain, on the condition that they be rung every noon and night. The smaller one was called the Tingelur (SP) bell, of very clear and sweet tone. [Notes by A. Hare. Photo shows the bells in the belfry]
