Description
A yellow photo album presumably compiled by Tanjiro Saito. Included are photographs of Tanjiro and Kiku Saito's children, their relatives in Japan, and family friends who also immigrated from Japan. There are a number of photographs of earlier Japanese immigrant men who arrived in the United States around the same time when Tanjiro immigrated. Those photographs capture the businesses and their owners in the Japanese American community in San Francisco and Los Angeles, California, including retailers, grocery stores, a restaurant (Daikokuya), a printing company (Tomoye Printing Co), and a bookstore (Bunmeido).
