Peck was in command of the 96th Contact Wing, 2nd Air Division in World War II.; Second photograph caption dated August 25, 1950 reads "Valley may be target." The article partially reads "The San Fernando Valley and the Los Angeles area generally will be at the bottom of any list of cities and objectives prepared by the Russians for A-bombing, Gen.
