Original photograph has several discolorations on the left side of the picture.
First photograph caption dated July 7, 1950 reads "Korea stirs memories." The article partially reads "Looking for local military comment on the Korean fight, the Valley Times set about to contact Brig. Gen. Walter R. Peck, who recently retired to live in Sherman Oaks." Peck was in command of the 96th Contact Wing, 2nd Air Division in World War II.; Second photograph caption dated August 25, 1950 reads "Valley may be target." The article partially reads "The San Fernando Valley and the Los Angeles area generally will be at the bottom of any list of cities and objectives prepared by the Russians for A-bombing, Gen. Walter R. Peck, Air Force retired, told the Valley Times today."; See images #00136154 through #00136155 for all photos in this series.
