Description: Rowing team in the water, in front of the Oakland Launch and Tug Boat Co., Oakland, California. A similar photograph is in the Oakland Museum of California's collection and its description reads, "Cal-Washington crew. The start of the varsity race with California in the foreground. 4-11-14." On the docks in the background is a large crowd of people. The buildings in the background are the Oakland Launch and Tug Boat Co., Herburn Coal Depot, and Richmond Genuine... (From Woody Minor, 7/96) The shoreline, based on examination of Sanborn maps of 1915, is in the area at the foot of Franklin St. with James P. Taylor Coal in the background."
