Photograph caption dated September 12, 1958 reads, "New 400-foot bridge spans Big Tujunga Canyon Creek opening new route through San Gabriel Mountains. Completion of bridge and paved road will connect Sunland and Antelope Valley. Big Tujunga highway will connect with Highway 6 at Antelope Valley. Road will open with official ceremony at 10 a.m. Wednesday."
