Description
The Elsie M. Castner Oral History Project was made possible by grants from the estates of Robert F. Cocklin, Ruth Castner Cocklin and others. The Dixon Public Library undertook this project in 1998 with the assistance of Chris Castaneda from CSU, Sacramento. The oral history of long-time resident Gordon Marvin is a record of his memories about growing up in rural Dixon, CA. His stories relate to the economic development of agriculture and ranching in early California communities. The present-day Marvin families in the Dixon area descend from farming families that settled in the Dixon area in the late 1800s. Note on original container: Copy 2
