Visible: Farms; Lake Washington; various bridges including Tower Bridge, I St., Jibboom; Southern Pacific railroad yard; City Filtration Plant; California State Fair grounds. Born in Medford, Oregon in 1922. After serving in the U.S. Navy in World War II, settled in Sacramento, starting a commercial photography business stringing for various newspapers. Business, Cartwright Aerial Surveys, eventually specialized in aerial photography and mapping. Died in Sacramento in 2003. Cartwright Aerial Surveys created aerial photographs to be used in producing topographic maps, plans, and profiles used in civil engineering; subdivision layouts and general purpose maps; products used for marketing studies and court documents. Photographs document growth and development of major urban areas of Northern California. Also have negative.
