A circa-1855 image of J street between Fifth and Sixth streets depicts Miner’s Drugs, part of R. H. McDonald and Company, a business run by Dr. R.H. McDonald and J.C. Spencer. The men were importers, and wholesale and retail dealers of drugs, medicines and dry goods. The image was published by Clarence Bushell, a commercial photographer.
